I: Christmas Bubbles – Revised  Covid-19 has a new variant. All viruses mutate so change was predictable and is nothing new.  According to Birmingham Director of Public Health Dr Justin Varney, there is currently no evidence that the effects of the new variant are worse or that the vaccine won’t work against it. However it appears to be highly transmissible.  The growth rate is doubling every 7 days in London/South East where 60-70% of cases are of the new variant.  For this reason the Government introduced a new Tier 4 which applies to London/South East from 20.12.2020.  In Tiers 1-3, changes have been made to the Christmas Bubbles policy.
