Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG)

CCC-B has been providing an advisory service to the local Chinese communities since it was set up in 1977.

We provide impartial, independent and confidential advice to assist our service users in dealing with a range of daily life issues, from benefit entitlements to accessing social care services. The IAG service aims to enable and empower everyone to have equal access to all mainstream services, provided by either statutory bodies or third sector organisations. Many of these services are only accessible over the phone or online, which are often difficult for our members to access due to cultural, language or IT skills barriers. This service helps to eradicate or minimise disadvantage and exclusion from the community.

Our IAG service is provided in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, and primarily focuses on following enquires:

  • Social welfare benefits
  • Social housing
  • Education and school places
  • Access Health and Social Care services
  • Disability support
  • Older People’s needs
  • Immigration (by a pro bono, qualified Immigration lawyer)
  • General enquiries

Where we do not have the specialist knowledge and skills to provide the IAG service required, we endeavour to signpost or refer you to relevant agencies, with your consent.

Part of our IAG work is to maximise income and increase financial inclusion for our service users, which may not only improve your standard of living, but also enhance your choice and control, and increase your contribution to the local economy.

This service is available during the hours below via pre-booked appointments:

Mondays: 10am – 3pm; Tuesdays: 10am – 3pm; Thursdays: 10am – 3pm

Our IAG service is available to everyone for a fee, with a reduced fee for members. Those with financial hardship please still speak to us as we may be able to reduce or waive the fees. We will advise you of the fees before confirming appointments.

We endeavour to seek for funding and grants to enable us to reduce or waive the fees for those with financial difficulties.

For further information or to book an appointment, please contact us via telephone, WeChat, WhatsApp, or email our Administrator, Chloe Yip.

CCC-B is proud to be Advice Quality Standard (AQS) accredited with the Advice Services Alliance, and a member of AdviceUK.

As of 2022, we have renamed our Advice & Advocacy (AA) service to Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) to better reflect the services we offer.
