I: Tier 4 The Government today confirmed that Birmingham will move into Tier 4 at 00:01 tomorrow morning (Thursday 31st December).  Key changes:    II: Schools re-opening  Secondary schools Secondary schools will open as follows:  4th January – open for vulnerable children and children of key workers only 11th January – Years 11 & 13 (exam years) return  18th January – all other years  Primary schools  Primary schools will reopen on Monday 4th January. Universities  Only students who need to attend physical classes involving practical tasks in order to gain qualifications will return in January.  Schools and universities will introduce lateral flow tests.  III: AstroZeneca ‘Oxford’ vaccine approved  The Government approved the Oxford vaccine today. Weekly Update 18/9/2020 New rules for social gatherings  We have produced a quick guide to the new rules that came into force this week.  http://bit.ly/Indoor_OutdoorGathering The ‘Rule of 6’ is national law that came into effect on Monday 14th September; the ban on visits inside people’s homes and gardens applies to people living in Birmingham, Sandwell and Solihull. It came into effect on Tuesday 15th.
