Chung Ying Restaurant is bringing back its free luncheon for Chinese elders (60+). This special monthly meal is a tribute to the contribution our elders have made to society during their lives. CCC-B is organising the booking system. Places for each luncheon are limited to 30, and allocated on a strict first come, first served basis. Places will be rotated so that all elders have an opportunity to attend. The first Elders Luncheon will take place on Wednesday 6th April. During lockdown, we have not been able to visit family or friends.We therefore came up with the idea of preparing some traditionalChinese New Year food and delivering it to the elders to makethem feel they have not been forgotten. We prepared enough togive 180 goody bags to the elders to enjoy over the festiveseason. Each bag contained: Sticky Sweet Chinese Rice Cake (nian gao),Deep Fried Peanut Puffs and peach blossom cakes made by four of ourwonderful volunteers. Thank you to everyone who has ordered and for supporting our fundraiser! We are no longer taking in any orders. Due to our legal responsibility to ensure a Covid-safe building, we are only allowing one person in at a time to collect. Entrance is at the front door on Bradford St and exit is by the back door only. Customers will have a time slot, and you must collect during this time in order to avoid different households mixing.
