SUMMARY:Wellbeing Conversation -
DESCRIPTION:Wellbeing Conversation \nBirmingham Public Health has reported that Chinese people tend to avoid seeking help with mental health issues until their problems are serious – there is a relatively high level of compulsory hospital admissions compared to other communities in the city*. \nBirmingham & Solihull NHS Mental Health Trust has given us a grant to explore the reasons for delays in seeking help\, experience of accessing NHS services\, quality of treatment\, and activities the community thinks would support positive mental health and wellbeing. \nThe Wellbeing Conversation will provide an opportunity for you to talk in more depth about your ideas for culturally appropriate mental health & wellbeing support services in Birmingham. The conversation will be led by independent facilitator Liz Walker on behalf of BSolMHT. \nPlease come and be part of the Conversation – help the NHS help Birmingham’s Chinese citizens. \nCosts: FREE – Pre-booking essential to help us plan  \nLanguage: Cantonese interpreting will be provided. Please tell us if you need Mandarin language support.\n \nAge restriction: 18+  \nNote: Our Wellbeing Conversation is NOT a peer support group. The aim of the Conversation is to improve services for the whole community. Although there will be some time allowed for participants to share personal experiences\, the Conversation will be managed to ensure everyone has a fair chance to contribute.\n* Birmingham Chinese Community Health Profile\, published by Birmingham Public Health\, 2024 Chinese community health profile report \n  \n________________________________ \n  \n心理健康對話會 \n伯明翰公共衛生部研究報告發現，華人往往在個人問題嚴重時才會尋求心理健康方面的幫助 – 與伯明翰其他社區相比，華人的強制住院率相對較高* \n伯明翰和Solihull NHS心理健康信託基金為我們提供了一筆資助，用於瞭解華人延遲尋求幫助的原因，獲得NHS服務的經驗和治療質量，以及社區認為有助於積極心理健康和幸福感的活動。
