DESCRIPTION:Our Shared Journey \nNew to Birmingham? Or here for many years but looking for connection and belonging? Want to look forward without forgetting your mother country? \nBCAT is starting a new project which will involve walks around Birmingham & surrounding areas to gather content and ideas to create a map featuring landmarks of our childhood as well as our chosen new home. Sketching\, painting\, sewing… these are just some of the art forms that will be used to create a wall hanging to depict our shared journey to the wider community. It will complement our wall mural of the same name. \nMeet the artist: the project will be led by artist Lisa Slinn with language support provided by CCC-B. Lisa is a professional designer-maker of ceramics and ceramic models. She has been a teacher in Birmingham for many years and has also designed pottery in the famous Potteries of Stoke On Trent. In session 1 on 6th July\, Lisa will listen and gather your ideas for the future sessions: ‘How can we connect where we have come from to where we are going ? What landmarks in the City \, social venues \, enjoyable activities can we map that we can use in the future to enable better mental wellbeing and migration’ \nThis new 6-month project is funded by the West Midlands Strategic Migration Partnership as part of the Hong Kong Welcome programme; however\, all are welcome. There is a small weekly charge to cover administration and refreshments. \nCosts per session: £3 – CCC-B Member; £2 – CCC-B Carer Member; £4 – Non-member \nBook 6 sessions in advance and get one free. \nLimited places so book early. DESCRIPTION:Thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Fund\, CCC-B is offering a new fitness programme which helps people get moving to music in order to prevent or reduce falls by improving core strength\, balance and stability; the programme started on 23th May 2023 and will last for 42 weeks.  \nIn a society where people are living longer\, falls are more common. There are various causes\, but taking part in our Moving Forward: Fit for All will help reduce your risk of falling\, enabling you to maintain a healthy\, independent life. \nThe programme will be delivered by Aesop who led a session at our Wellbeing Forum in 2022 – it was great fun with exercises to music that can be done standing or sitting. Suitable for men and women aged 50+. \nPlaces are limited so please book in advance to avoid disappointment. DESCRIPTION:Our Shared Journey \nNew to Birmingham? Or here for many years but looking for connection and belonging? Want to look forward without forgetting your mother country? \nBCAT is starting a new project which will involve walks around Birmingham & surrounding areas to gather content and ideas to create a map featuring landmarks of our childhood as well as our chosen new home. Sketching\, painting\, sewing… these are just some of the art forms that will be used to create a wall hanging to depict our shared journey to the wider community. It will complement our wall mural of the same name. \nMeet the artist: the project will be led by artist Lisa Slinn with language support provided by CCC-B. Lisa is a professional designer-maker of ceramics and ceramic models. She has been a teacher in Birmingham for many years and has also designed pottery in the famous Potteries of Stoke On Trent. In session 1 on 6th July\, Lisa will listen and gather your ideas for the future sessions: ‘How can we connect where we have come from to where we are going ? What landmarks in the City \, social venues \, enjoyable activities can we map that we can use in the future to enable better mental wellbeing and migration’ \nThis new 6-month project is funded by the West Midlands Strategic Migration Partnership as part of the Hong Kong Welcome programme; however\, all are welcome. There is a small weekly charge to cover administration and refreshments. \nCosts per session: £3 – CCC-B Member; £2 – CCC-B Carer Member; £4 – Non-member \nBook 6 sessions in advance and get one free. \nLimited places so book early. DESCRIPTION:Chung Ying Restaurant is bringing back its free luncheon for Chinese elders (60+). This special monthly meal is a tribute to the contribution our elders have made to society during their lives. CCC-B is organising the booking system. Places for each luncheon are limited to 30\, and allocated on a strict first come\, first served basis. Places will be rotated so that all elders have an opportunity to attend. \nOnce the flyer has been release you are able to book\, usually release a week beforehand\, it comes as a first come first serve basis. DESCRIPTION:Thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Fund\, CCC-B is offering a new fitness programme which helps people get moving to music in order to prevent or reduce falls by improving core strength\, balance and stability; the programme started on 23th May 2023 and will last for 42 weeks.  \nIn a society where people are living longer\, falls are more common. There are various causes\, but taking part in our Moving Forward: Fit for All will help reduce your risk of falling\, enabling you to maintain a healthy\, independent life. \nThe programme will be delivered by Aesop who led a session at our Wellbeing Forum in 2022 – it was great fun with exercises to music that can be done standing or sitting. Suitable for men and women aged 50+. \nPlaces are limited so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
